Rates pending verification
The list of rate slabs used by this calculator are held in content/tax-rates.json and have not yet been verified by the firm against the current legislation. Treat every result as illustrative only until that review is complete.
This does arithmetic, not classification
The calculator applies whatever rate you select. It does not determine the correct rate, HSN or SAC classification, place of supply, or whether a supply is exempt, zero-rated or outside the scope of GST. Those are the questions that actually create exposure, and they need advice on the specific facts. For an intra-state supply the tax is split equally between CGST and SGST or UTGST. For an inter-state supply the whole amount is IGST.
Indicative only
These calculators produce indicative results based only on the figures you enter and the assumptions stated on each page. They are not professional advice and must not be relied on for filing, planning or any other purpose. Tax law changes frequently. Please speak to us about your specific circumstances.
Questions
Switch to "Strip GST from a total". The taxable value is the total divided by one plus the rate, and the GST is the difference.
For an intra-state supply the tax is shared equally between the centre and the state. For an inter-state supply the whole amount is IGST. Determining which applies depends on the place of supply, which is a legal question rather than an arithmetic one.
