Alumni

The firm you left. The network you keep.

Since 1986, hundreds of professionals have trained or practised at Sawant & Kadrekar. They now lead finance functions, run practices of their own, and sit on the other side of the table. That connection is worth keeping - and worth being useful.

Our side of it

What the firm commits to

An alumni network that only asks for referrals is a mailing list. This is what we undertake to do, whether or not you ever send us a thing.

01

We keep you technically current

The same tax, GST and regulatory updates we send clients, free, for as long as you want them. Stop any time, in one click.

02

We will be a reference

For any former colleague who left in good standing, we will confirm your role, period and responsibilities to an employer, a bank or a regulator. Ask, and we will do it promptly.

03

We will make introductions

If we know someone who can help you - a client, another alumnus, a firm in the SNK & Alliance network - we will make the introduction. There is no fee and no expectation attached.

04

We will keep the door open

Alumni are considered first for openings, and re-joining is not treated as a step backwards. Several professions treat leaving as disloyalty. We do not.

How the network works

Six ways we stay connected

Not all of these matter to everyone. Pick the ones you want when you register, and ignore the rest.

Alumni directory

A searchable directory of alumni who have chosen to appear, filterable by period, sector, city and organisation. Visible only to registered alumni - never to the public, never to search engines.

Appearing is a separate, explicit opt-in. Contact details are never shown; introductions are routed through the firm so you control who reaches you.

Mentoring

Alumni mentor current article assistants and early-career staff - an hour a quarter, on a call, about the things nobody teaches in a coaching class.

The commitment is deliberately small so it is actually kept. Mentors are matched by practice area and, where possible, by the office the mentee sits in.

Opportunity board

Roles at alumni organisations, roles at the firm, and independent assignments - circulated to the network before they go anywhere else.

Alumni post openings at their own organisations. The firm posts its own vacancies here first. Both are visible only to registered alumni.

Technical updates

Tax, GST, BFSI and regulatory updates written for people who have to act on them - the same material clients receive.

Choose the subjects you want at registration. No cross-selling, no drip campaigns.

Events and reunions

An annual alumni gathering, technical sessions that count towards CPE where applicable, and the occasions the firm marks anyway.

Alumni who speak at a technical session are credited as such, and it is a genuinely useful line on a profile.

Regional chapters

Informal groups in Mumbai, Pune and - through the SNK & Alliance network - overseas, so meeting up does not depend on a flight.

A chapter is three people and a date. We will help convene the first one; after that it belongs to its members.

Directory

Alumni directory

Not open yet, deliberately

A searchable directory is part of this platform, but it stays switched off until two things are true: the alumni service is live, and every listed person has given explicit, recorded consent to appear.

Register below and your details stay private to the firm. Whether you appear in the directory is a separate tick box, and you can change your mind at any time.

We keep track

The things worth a message

Qualification results, a first partnership, a new role, a work anniversary. If you tell us, we will mark it - and with your permission, tell the network. Small, but it is what makes a network feel like one.

Questions

Before you register

Anyone who worked at Sawant & Kadrekar LLP - article assistants, paid assistants, qualified staff, partners and support team. There is no minimum period and no seniority threshold.

Only if you separately tick the directory consent, and then only your name, current organisation and designation, and only to other registered alumni. The directory is not public and is not indexed by search engines. Your contact details are never displayed, whatever you consent to.

Only what you select at registration. If you tick nothing, we hold your record and send you nothing at all. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe that works without logging in.

Yes, entirely and without needing to give a reason. Write to the alumni address and we will delete the record and confirm that we have done it.

No. Some of the strongest connections in the network are with people who left in the 1990s. The firm has been in practice since 1986 and the register is being built from scratch, so early is genuinely helpful.

Alumni are considered first for openings and re-joining is not treated as a step backwards. Tick the opportunities interest, or simply write to us.
